WM Dyer’s first Female apprentice presented with a Community Award
WM Dyer’s apprentices continue to impress as Ashley Lee is presented with a Willmott Dixon Community Award
Ashley Leigh, above, has impressed since she started with WM Dyer Electrical Ltd. She was the first female to enquire and apply for an Electrical Apprenticeship with the firm, and since becoming part of the team has done nothing but impress.
Ashley and her fellow apprentice, Samuel, have been recently working together on a project at Bolton Town Hall with developer Willmott Dixon.
Ashley was travelling home from work one evening and came across a stranded motorist with a mechanical problem. She stopped to help the motorist and kindly offered to leave her tools with the motorist for him to return them the next day. Sadly, despite Ashley’s kind efforts, the tools were never returned.
Upon hearing of Ashley’s act of kindness, and also that her tools were never returned – Willmott Dixon couldn’t let this pass by. Ashley was awarded with the Willmott Dixon Community Award for her kindness in helping the motorist get back on the road. Willmott Dixon also covered the cost of replacement tools for Ashley.
William Dyer, Managing Director said:
“We are extremely proud of Ashley – not only in the workplace but also outside of work. If only there were more helpful people around like her! It’s a great achievement to have received the award and definitely something to talk about as her career progresses”
